The problem.

GCSE Computer Science students need a lot of practice and quick feedback on it. One teacher can't mark thirty Python programs in a lesson.
A GCSE programming question: the pupil's Python, run and marked against the mark scheme, with the marks explained.

What we built.

A browser platform with a Python editor and exam-style questions for four exam boards. Answers are marked against the mark scheme and the teacher can change any mark. Test mode switches help off for mocks. Teachers get class lists, assignments and analytics; schools pay by card or purchase order. It now has 78 question types, from Python and SQL to Turing machines and storyboards, twenty full apps pupils make things in, and live classroom games for phones.
Logic Gate Studio: a NAND circuit with its truth table and Boolean expression worked out live.

What happened.

Other teachers asked to use it, then their departments did. It now serves 100+ schools and 4,000+ students, has marked more than 250,000 answers. It has expanded from Computer Science into Business, Economics, ICT, Creative iMedia and KS3 Computing.
A pupil's R093 storyboard for a charity video: illustrated scenes with shot type, angle, camera movement, sound and timing, against the brief's running time.

What it means for you.

The logins, roles, billing, marking and reporting in SubjectHub are the parts most organisations need. We've already made them work at scale, in term time, for users who have no patience for software that doesn't.
The answer drawer: a pupil's storyboard as she built it, the mark and the AI's comment.
